When is the guaranteed interview date?
All of our employers have different interview dates. Please check out your HeadStart guide and look at the Interview section of your online profile for further information on specific employers.
What is the dress code for the interview?
We recommend you come smartly dressed to your interview to show the employer you are serious. This means no jeans, sports clothes or trainers. The main thing is you feel comfortable.
We will give you specific guidance depending on your employer. For example, if you are interviewing for Greater London Authority we would recommend formal/business wear, however, if you are interviewing with New Look they like to see your interest in fashion shine through in your clothing. You will be given more tips and advice at the employer workshop and in the interview event on your profile.
What to do if I can no longer attend a workshop/interview? Is there another workshop/interview I can attend instead?
To run a HeadStart interview day we need a lot of staff from the employer team to attend therefore we cannot run additional days outside of the pre-scheduled dates. We do however often run extra workshops so keep an eye on your profile.
Can I change my corporate partner?
Yes - please contact us on email@example.com or you can message us on Live Chat.
When will I find out if I have been successful at the interview?
This will vary depending on the employer. A HeadStart team member will update you at the interview on the response time, and if you aren’t sure to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can message us on Live Chat.
Where and when is my interview?
All of this information will be given before you confirm you can attend so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you can make the interview. We try as far as possible to hold interviews in a central location with good public transport links
I've already got a job, do I have to do the interview? Should I still take part?
That's great news! If you don't want an interview, that's not a problem. Just go to the Interview Preference section on your online profile and select 'No corporate partner' or 'Mock interview'. As long as you start volunteering you can still attend our career building workshops, which will benefit you in the long run.
I've tried to book my interview/workshop online and it says "No events found", what does this mean?
It is really important that you check all the emails we send you as that is when we let you know when things are happening! Each interview/workshop has a limited amount of young people that can attend so it works on a first come first serve basis. We cannot go over this limit due to health and safety.
We send all young people on the programme weekly email updates so that you are caught up with everything happening.
Please do email email@example.com if you were too late in booking your interview slot/employability workshop and we will be able to go through your options.
